FAQs

Tuition & Fees Questions

  • Pricing varies, depending on your season and class/ camp selection.

If you check our tuition page, you will find general tuition information.

You can easily pay via your SDD Parent Portal in two convenient ways

    (a) Auto-Billing (the easiest option)

    (b) Manual Log-In (set a reminder to avoid the late fee!)

Payment policies may be accessed here.

  • The Registration Fee Covers administrative costs, community events, and studio enhancements, like Spot TV. The annual registration fee is $45 per individual student or $65 per family with multiple students, and it sequentially covers one main dance season and one summer session. This fee is non-refundable.

  • Each year, the theme of our year-end show changes, and we strategically select new music, costumes, and choreography to match the theme. The costume fees are billed for each recital class and must be ordered through the studio. The fee includes tights and garment bag packaging.

After the recital, costumes are great to upcycle into dress-up clothing, Halloween costumes, or souvenir items like memory blankets.

Note: costume orders are placed months prior to the show, so costume fees are non-refundable. If you have to leave our program after your recital costume fee is paid, you may still pick it up at the designated times once recital costume distribution begins. Be sure to set a reminder because there is a deadline for pick-ups!

Class Questions

  • If you are new or returning from a break within our community, we will recommend a cohort for you to visit for a complimentary trial class. This will allow our staff the opportunity to correctly place your dancer in a cohort. Cohort Groups are strategically revisited and assigned for each season and are not leveled.

  • If you are unable to make your dance class(es), we have a very flexible make-up policy!

    • Step #1: Submit your absence(s) via the SDD Parent Portal

    • Step #2: Schedule a Make-Up Class in your SDD Parent Portal within 30 days within your designated Cohort Division (it doesn’t have to be the exact same style; in fact, many students enjoy trying a new style for their make-up classes)

Make-Up Classes should be scheduled a minimum of 24 hours in advance and must be completed within the same session as enrollment (e.g. 2024 Summer Classes must be made-up within the 2024 Summer Session).

SpotTV viewing is not available for make-up classes.

Please note: we do not refund or prorate tuition for missed classes.

Thanksgiving Break, Winter Break, and Spring Break are built into the calendar and are not eligible for make-up classes. Smaller studio breaks are eligible for make-up classes.

  • If you are taking a complimentary trial class, you do not need to purchase dancewear for this occasion. Clothing comfortable for movement and socks/barefeet are perfectly fine.

If you enroll in classes, you will want to follow our dress code.

At Stage Door Dance, we believe modest, age-appropriate dance attire is key to a classy, successful learning environment that is free from distraction.

  • Our Remote Viewing App, Spot TV, enables you to view your dancer in registered classes on a regular basis. Your app will only go “live” during those regularly scheduled class/camp times.

Note: We also 3-4 scheduled in-studio viewing weeks during our dance season!

(SpotTV will not be available for viewing one-time events (workshops, make-up classes, etc.) or private lessons.)

    To set-up your account:

    (a) Visit www.spottv.pro

    (b) Click “My Account” in the top right-hand corner

    (c) From there, you will see a prompt to set up your account.

Note: all new accounts require manual security verification. To guarantee access by the time your child is in class, we recommend enrolling 24-48 hours in advance via the mobile app.

If you have app-related issues, please reach out to the Family Support Center (contact@spottv.pro or 1-844-307-7768), as we cannot troubleshoot app-related issues on our end. We can only assist with verification!

Note: for security purposes, if you screenshot or record your Spot TV, you will be automatically kicked off the app and will require readmittance, which can take up to 24-48 hours. If you screenshot or record multiple times, you will be permanently suspended from the app.

  • We have assigned drop-off pick-up areas based on your designated studio room to help with entry/exit traffic congestion. Please make sure you are going to the correct location!

About Stage Door Questions

  • SDD is a special place. We believe in training excellent dancers, but beyond that, we are committed to cultivating exceptional humans.

Using the pillars of technique, performance, community, and character, our well-rounded program is pioneering a new path for children’s extracurricular activities.

Our tagline, Be More At Stage Door, holds our entire community to the highest professional and personal standards.

You can read more about our journey in the best-selling book Trash The Trophies: How to Win Without Losing Your Soul.

  • Do we train our dancers to be competitive in life? Yes.

Do we participate in dance competitions? No.

    Why?

    We used to compete.

But, something kept saying this wasn’t true to our vision or standards at SDD.

We believe there is a better way for dancers to train at a higher level while maximizing their return on investment in their dance education experience. Through our Be More Performance Ensemble (formerly the Intensive Training Program), students gain the same performance principles while also focusing on leadership development, camaraderie, and philanthropy. Flexible in design, students are able to pursue other extracurricular interests and commitments, as well. The group offers educational travel and performance opportunities.
