Community Conversation: Education & Teacher Pay

Community Conversation: Education & Teacher Pay

Stage Door Dance Productions recently joined over 85 other organizations as endorses of the American Teacher Act and the Pay Teachers Act.

Why?

In order to thrive in the extracurricular environment, students must be able to thrive in their educational environment. And, that starts with appreciating and retaining educators in an environment in which everyone can succeed and be seen.

In addition to reevaluating standards for teacher pay, these acts will also increase federal public education investments and ask states and localities to do the same while also investing in a diverse teacher workforce, strengthening the educator pipeline, and supporting teachers' career development and advancement.

On Tuesday, May 9th, as a part of Teacher Appreciation Week, we will open a Community Conversation in conjunction with Syna Sharma, a Park Scholar representing the NC State Department of Education. We will also have two public school educators, Jasmine Lauer and Keri Lane, to share their experiences.

If you know a teacher, appreciate a teacher, and want the education system to reach its fullest potential, we encourage you to attend this important community conversation.

The evening will include facts and stories, data, and relation on how you can create change and impact in your community.

This event is FREE and open to the community.
