What is the most valuable lesson you learned at SDD?

To persevere through tough times no matter how hard life gets. Chasta’s continuous support and motivation has kept me going even when I wanted to give up on my dreams. She’s continuously showed up for me and taught me just how important it is to follow your heart everywhere you go.

Advice You’d Give Current Dancers:

Treat every class like it’s the last time you’ll ever dance. I’ll never ever forget hearing that from Chasta when I was just seven years old and thinking to myself I have to push myself harder, I have to savor every moment of this because it’s not about the trophies or the praise it’s about the hardwork and that love for dance that Chasta continues to cultivate in me to this day.

Favorite SDD Moment:

I don’t remember what year this was but for me my favorite memory of sdd was playing Elvis in our yearly recital and my wig falling into the toilet just before I was about to go on stage. But as they say the show must go on so the staff went into full go mode and dried it in t-minus six seconds and I can tell you one thing the only thing that was wet on that stage was my sweat.

What’s next, and how can we keep up with your success?

Next year I will be a senior then off to college! The second season of the hit Netflix series I woke up A Vampire just came out and I play the role of Tristan! Would love for you all to stream it. I’m hoping to continue my dream of acting throughout the remainder of my high school years and with any luck I’ll continue getting to pursue my dream my whole life. Follow me @super_will2006
